Just once a while, when you are on the dash, do you ever see a pic that makes you gasp? And suddenly, you are breathless, stiff/wet and horny?

Theres a belief, that is fairly common it seems, which is, selling on ATW can help boost poor self esteem.

I wouldn't blanket say, "no thats not true", I'm sure it CAN and has helped some people. Thats great, I'm not taking that away.

But also given my time here and interacting with ALOT of people, I'd say it's definitely not true for everyone.

So, custom pricing. Right. Let me see if I can explain this without getting everyone mad at me :( I know I'm on territory thats outside my "lane" but, I'll risk it because I think theres a thing lots of people miss here sometimes.

I get and agree the "know your worth!" sentiment I see posted on the dash all the time and I think setting your per minute rates and sticking to them is a wise strategy. There are heaps of us buyers here who will try and ask for ridiculous discounts and act like sausages about paying. So, fair play.

BUT - where you set your per-minute rate is key and this is maybe where the "know your worth!" advice doesn't always help.

There are guides around and a general, market driven sense for the per minute cost of things. A sort of - range. Where you go in that range with your pricing isn't necessarily all about how thin/attractive/pretty/young you are. Nor your boob size or...other physical factors. And it's definitely not "what you are worth" as a person (its NEVER that by the way).

It's a huge amount about things like:-

- what are you recording on? Is it a 4k HD camera or a potato quality cell-phone?
- do you have a proper lighting ring? Is the camera nicely positioned on a tripod?
- do you have the right clothing/outfits, props and toys?
- have you gotten the "set" and the background nicely and appropriately setup?
- have you made videos like this before? are you experienced in the particular fantasy they asked about? Have you been doing this on ATW a long time?
- are you good at roleplaying this fantasy? good at planning scripting if vocals are needed?

I know, this all sounds super entitled and ...moany and stuff. But it's really not intended to be!
I just hope to make people understand, your prices for custom videos don't actually reflect you as a person, physically or otherwise. It's not actually, necessarily "they'll pay more if I'm hotter" or similar variants I've heard people tell me.

It's more about the quality of the "product" you deliver.

Competition here is fierce. It's a crowded market, a finite amount of money coming in from buyers ("the pie"), with a large amount of places for money to flow out to sellers.

I understand everyone competes for a slice of the pie, either for economic reasons or, perhaps personal validation reasons (even though they probably shouldn't).

Whatever the case, trying to increase your share by coercing, or guilt tripping existing buyers is a risky strategy. Some submissive buyers may be motivated by the sense of "never having spent enough" or "I can't pay my water bill and it's your fault" - but in my experience they are in the minority. So use that tactic very cautiously, because you may end off putting them off and reducing your share, rather than increasing it.

The "who should message first" thing is often discussed.
I think the reality is, there is no right answer. Everyone is different, has their own needs and ways.

I've just spent 15 minutes writing, re-writing and getting anxious over sending a first message. I managed it today :D but often time I give up in a spiral of shame.

But there'll be lots of people out there who have no such struggle at all.
